Die zwei Kurse haben in mehreren Kleingruppen nach tiefgründiger Recherche Organisationen als „Vorsitzende“ bei dem abschließenden Gala-Event. Als Ergebnis durften wir Ergebnisse in Form von Videos, Plakaten oder sogar Songs begutachten. Die Ergebnisse waren alle sehr beeindruckend und alle Anwesenden hatten eine Menge Spaß.
Am Ende stand das „Fundraisen“: Jede/r Teilnehmer:in bekam Monopolyscheine, die man in die Projekte investieren konnte, welche man am überzeugendsten fand. Als klarer Sieger stach das Projekt „Ghost Divers“ hervor; das Video dieser Gruppe darf hier bestaunt werden. Das Projekt, das die höchste Summe einnehmen konnte, wird im weiteren Verlauf an die Nachhaltigkeits-AG weitergeleitet, so dass geprüft werden kann, ob und wie die Schulgemeinschaft dieses Projekt in Zukunft tatsächlich unterstützen kann.
Ein großer Dank geht an Frau Westphal, die die kulinarische Untermalung durch die Mensa großzügig gesponsert hat. Des Weiteren danken wir der WAT-Klasse 924 von Frau El-Kassem, die durch ihren spitzenmäßigen Service das Erleben der Gala noch authentischer gemacht hat, sowie dem Förderverein, der durch eine großzügige Spende die Dekoration und Getränke ermöglicht hat.
Besonderer Dank gilt der Werkstufe, die die Vorbereitung der Gala unterstützt hat, indem sie sich um den Großeinkauf kümmerte und die Aula wundervoll dekorierte.
Fundraising Gala meets English advanced courses
On December 16, 2022, a fundraising gala was held as part of the third semester of Ms. Harris's and Ms. El-Kassem's advanced English courses. As the semester theme, "Saving the planet," suggests, the gala was all about sustainability and environmental protection.
The two courses worked in several small groups doing in depth research to present organizations as "chairpersons" at the final gala event. As we gathered at the actual event the groups presented their research in the form of videos, posters or even songs. The results were all very impressive and everyone present enjoyed the evening.
At the end of the night the actual money fundraising started: Each participant got “money”, which could be invested in the projects, which they found most convincing. The clear winner was the project "Ghost Divers"; the video of this group can be seen here. The project that was able to raise the highest amount of money will be forwarded to the Sustainability-AG in the future, so that it can be checked if and how the school community can actually support this project in the future.

Furthermore, we would like to thank Mrs. El-Kassem's WAT class 924, who made the experience of the gala even more authentic through their top-notch service, as well as the booster club, who made the decorations and drinks possible through a generous donation.
